Hello,
Many people on here buy and sell camera gear quite regularly and expensive gear at that. How many use their camera equipment as a hobby or do most/many of you use it to make money? Do many of you sell your photos as a sideline to help defray the cost of your equipment?
While I have had many compliments about my images I have never sold nor tried to sell any of them. It crossed my mind that perhaps many on here do use their photography as a sideline business as opposed to a full-time business so was curious about it. Thank you.

i hobby that sometimes makes money... like i charge firends and family to do their pictures and i occasionally sell a print or two

It's an expensive hobby for me.....but, I love it. That's even if no other person ever sees the pictures I take, it's my creative outlet.

A hobby that I am hoping to use to earn some money after I retire this year.

I shoot landscape and travel for hobby; products for money, and stringed instruments for art.

It's a hobby that I get paid for. I'm a student so I get to shoot various things around school and get access to things that are fun to shoot (like sporting events) and though I get paid very little is does offset some of the gear costs. For example next quarters paycheck could offset the cost of my skyports depending on how many I get published.
