in the Elwha Valley of Olympic National Park, Washington. In the last few days, a strong storm has brought significant rain to the lowlands and snow to the higher elevations. Heat from our woodstove feels good in these wet, cold conditions Thanks for looking.

Nice contrasting elements here with the snow, evergreens and Fall pastels

Just across the river from the entrance station I'd guess. Very nice counterpoint to the other evening when I was there. Excellent comp Bob, with lots of attractive layers, and the ubiquitous low clouds.

Hi Tim,

Many thanks and glad you like the image, which was captured between the Entrance Station and River, in between rain squalls That's all I photographed during this morning's walk, too wet to carry the camera up the Valley.

Nice one Bob - by the end of this weekend the storms will have removed most vestiges of fall from the trees down in the Portland/Vancouver area and left us ready for a wet winter season.

Hi Alan,

Many thanks and glad you like the image. Indeed, Autumn is fading and Winter is coming on strong. Looking forward to Winter dynamics in December and January, and then, Early Spring

Hi Barry,

Many thanks and glad you like the image. It was a good time to be there with a few minutes of no rain and partial clearing.
