Well I can finally get back to going through some images now that I've finished some design work on a personal website. Kevin has been steadily supplying a fair share of images from our southwest trip during my short absence.

Anyways, this is another shot from Hunts Mesa, and I'm sorta on the fence with it. Some days I like, others it doesn't do much for me. We were just about packed up and ready to hit the road when I was standing around with one of the other photographers enjoying one last view. The sun was a little higher in the sky and the clouds were growing in size. We ran back to the truck and grabbed our gear for one last shot. I'm glad I decided to get the camera back out and give it a go. Although this isn't the sweet "golden light", it is almost a storybook ending to the trip up on Hunts Mesa. The way the clouds created a spotted look to the light across the valley floor was quite the site.

Any and all feedback always appreciated. Thanks. Billy

I really like the depth and perspective in your image in addition to the rich colors and tones. Well done!

Hey Billy,

I do like it. That dappled light across the rocks looks really sweet! I definately would say it's a fitting end to your story.

This is an excellent shot Billy. I like the spotlighting (as Jim mentioned) and composition.

Wow! Great picture, wonderful DOF. I like the migration from peaceful dessert in the foreground to dramatic landscape in the background.

Other than lacking the 'sweet golden light', it's an excellent image. If I were to 'work' this one any further, it would be in the blues of the sky.....seems you've got a little headroom there to bump that color up w/o looking 'overcooked'.

Beautiful view, Billy. Fascinating array of textures and forms, and very cool dappled lighting indeed.
I'm with Fo on the blues in the sky, but that's a very minor thing here. I love your title.....very fitting.

Great shot. The sky appears a little too turquoise on my monitor, however.

What a visual feast this is, and how well all the elements come together. Whether or not the azure of the sky is completely natural (and every kind blue can be found in the sky at one time or another), even if a liberty has been taken with the color, the result is subtle and a perfect compliment for the muted reds in the bluffs. The only thing needed here in the Old West is the Cisco Kid.

Great composition, I'm a fan of the light in this shot too, and cool clouds to boot!
