Looking for a fisheye lens that will work well with the Canon Mark III, so "fishing" for comments from those that use them with the 1.3x sensor. The Tokina 10-17 designed for the 1.6x sensor looks like a good option but not available anywhere at this time. Any comments on this fisheye with the Mark III?

Anyone used the Canon 15mm Fisheye much on the Mark III ? How much does the 1.3x sensor effect it? I was wondering if it makes it too much like a standard wide angle.

Any photo examples would be appreciated.

Tokina 10-17mm is a good option. I used this on 1.3x cameras, and if I remember correctly, from 12mm up there's no vignetting. It does get a little annoying having taken a picture at 10mm on accident and cropping it later though...otherwise it's sharp/cheap and fun to use.

I had a 15mm FE for a little while (after the Tokina) and use it on 1.3x and full frame cameras. It definitely does NOT look like a standard wide angle when used on 1.3x, you will still get that fisheye distortion.

Out of the two, I think I preferred the Tokina because of the price and the ability to zoom. However, the Canon has f/2.8...

I have the sigma 15mm f/2.8 fisheye and it certainly looks fishy on my 1DmkIII... it even looks fishy on a 1.6x...

I used the 10-17 on the 1D2 when I had it....perfect on that came. You'll get the full 180 degree view at 12.5mm without vignetting...only fisheye that can do that.

I use the Tokina 10-17 on my Rebel and 5D. I give the fisheye a big thumbs up. The zoom makes the lens very versatile. The only thing is that the build in hood prevents it from being a circular fisheye at 10mm . You can shave it, but I don't have the guts (or tools) to do that.

The Tokina 10-17mm, it probably my happiest guilty pleasure purchase of any lens I own. I couldn't think of a reason to buy it that would ever get my money back on it. I don't shoot things that call for a fisheye when working. I just wanted it, so I bought it. I love that lens. It's great on a crop factor camera and usable on the 5D (more so if we shaved it). I think having a 1.3 crop camera and that lens would be the best of both worlds.
The color is nice it's sharp and I cannot stress enough how versatile the zoom makes it.

I use the tokina 10-17 on the 1DIII and yes it works great from 12mm and is very fishy. Highly recommended (if you like that sort of thing).
