I am thinking the 35 f/2 and the 50/1.4, and perhaps one more, thoughts?

Try not to post more than one topic per day please. I believe it is one of the forum rules. Just pointing it out.

So to answer your question, what do you shoot? Don't you think a telephoto might be useful? How about the 70-300VR?

My bad, good rule, and I will respect it in the future. A bit embarrassed.

I do travel photography. I am looking to switch to FF, and love the body of the D700 and the 14-24, but the price, size, and limited range of the 24-70 (and lack of other options) has me leaning towards sticking with canon. That being said, if I could put together some good quality primes I would think about.

180 2.8 or 300 4.0 if you need a long lens...
other than that a 85 1.8

but when I travel light, I don't necessarily take primes, I prefer a Tamron 28-75 2.8, excellent quality, small and light, and for longer focal length I would also recommend a 70-300VR

If you have the 35 f2 I'd look at the 60 f2.8 micro, one lens that will compare to the 14-24.
