We got the opportunity this summer to photograph this wedding at the Hockey Hall of Fame here in Toronto. It's a really neat venue to shoot a wedding, apparently they only do a few weddings each other because of the limitations, which are events can be held only after public hours, no formal dining (just had food stations) for finger foods.

The couple were from California and big hockey fans. I think they highlight for them was getting to hold the Stanley Cup!

We had less formal/creatives than we usually do because the groom didn't really want any and just wanted to enjoy the party.

Hard to find anything not to like in this set. At first I though the venue would be awkward, but it's definitely a win.

Great mood here. Especially the getting ready shots. Ring shot is excellent as well. I can't say I like the red in the brides dress presentation. Looks off. I realize what she was going for but it comes off clumsy. Doesn't reflect your work of course. Brillant images Klam.

Thanks guys. The Hockey Hall of Fame is a really interesting venue for sure. Not too many weddings there.

It was a fun wedding for sure. Since there were no formal dining facilities, they just had some finger food catering from the restaurant next door. So it was stuff like fries and roast beef mini sandwiches, and lamb chops. Nobody sitting around. The couple just wanted their 40-50 guests to use the exhibits and check out the Hall of Fame. It felt strange shooting people playing hockey simulators, checking out the exhibits, and playing games like table hockey. No dining. No dancing. No speeches.

Wow. I have been there as a kid, but don't remember it being that cool. I wish I still played.

We just signed my (nearly) 3 year old up for Hockey lessons.

How on EARTH this this guy get his wife to agree to the HHOF?

I couldn't imagine any woman I know even letting the conversation begin about it being at the Pro Football Hall of Fame (and it's less than an hour from me, in Canton Ohio for anyone who cares)...

Still, you get a big huge FTW on this entire set. The only thing I can hold against the groom.... c'mon, seriously... the wings? Either the Penns or the Hawks.

looks like these were taken from a movie

They really tell a story and the first couple have brave compositions and I love the minimal lighting.

Awesome! Gratz!

Hi! I'm the bride in these photos and a friend of mine just contacted me and said, "Whoa! I just saw your wedding photos online!" And here they are!

I know this topic is loooong dead, but I can't help but respond to a few of the comments/questions that came up here... (not related to photography, but then, neither were the original comments

For everyone who said "That looks like FUN." It totally WAS! Super-duper fun! SUCH a good time, we keep saying, "I want to do it again!" Our friend all still talk about it, over a year later. So. Much. FUN.

MTBtrials wrote: "How on EARTH this this guy get his wife to agree to the HHOF?" Well, we met playing hockey, so that guy didn't have to "get" me to do it. We both love hockey and it was a fantastic venue. We got to HOLD THE STANLEY CUP. What the heck could be cooler than that?!

MTBtrials also wrote: "The only thing I can hold against the groom.... c'mon, seriously... the wings?" Look again, my friend. The groom would'nt be caught dead in a Wings jersey (even though we're both originally from Detroit). He's wearing two different jerseys in these photos, and neither of them are Wings -- one is Team Canada and the other is the team we play on back home.

SAREBEL wrote "Only thing is shouldn't the bride been the "goalie" -- That made me laugh out loud. If I had thought of the photo op, I may have done that, but I'm a forward, so I only went for that. My husband plays both out and in goal, so he donned the goalie gear. Funny story -- right after that photo was shot, he took one in the... er... well. You can figure it out. No, no, didn't hurt the wedding night at all, but it wasn't great at the moment it happened -- funny how one doesn't think to wear a cup to one's wedding. Thanks, klam, for not taking *that* photo!

If anyone here is thinking of having an event there (which it seems like a few of you are), just DO IT. The staff is great. The building (as you can see here) is gorgeous. The restaurant that catered for us (Acqua, next door) was absolutely *fantastic*. Even though it's been called "finger food" here, there was definitely a full meal's worth of food, served at several stations. Everything was delicious. Our friends are still talking about it, over a year later.
