Hi folks, I am looking for a 5D (or 5D2) in excellent condition with mirror shaved by a reputable handyman. I know this is not B&S board but if you happen to have one that you don't need or you can point me to someone or some place to find it, I will really appreciated.

This is my post in B&S

I have mine shaved, extensively. It'll use every Leica lens, and I assume every other "borderline" lens aside from the konica AR lenses. I do see a very very slight darkening at the top of the viewfinder image with my 180mm, and a slightly more noticeable darkening with the 100mm macro. Everything wider looks normal. Obviously IQ is not affected.

I was looking to sell it for around USD2300... that's about AUD2500.

I have acrylic screen protectors on both LCD's. no scratches on the body anywhere. Very little dust on the sensor, I routinely shoot at f/13 and don't have any issues.

Oh, and my viewfinder is perfectly calibrated & shimmed by me with the Canon Ee-s and Eg-s focusing screens, so what-you-see-is-what-you-get.

folks, I have read some posts about shaving the mirror DIY. Here I have a question. What lens will be the one needs the most part shaved? I read that someone mentioned that a Leica 15/3.5 will need to shave the mirror off about 3mm, is that true?

5D2 is what I have.

the 35mm Summilux-R needs a lot, probably about 2.5mm+ all along the mirror right to the edges. I haven't used the 15mm f3.5 but I wouldn't be surprised if it were similar.

Is there an instruction manual on shaving the mirror? Does it require any special skills? I would hate to ruin my 5D II.
