Just some backyard birds. All or most with the 500 and a 25mm extension tube. Awfully narrow DOF. The closer I look (at these birds, not the photos, lol), the more beautiful they seem.

Thanks for looking, and C&C's welcome, of course. I've a pretty thick skin, lol.

Hi Mark,
You have a beautiful set of little ones here. All well exposed with excellent details and nice BGs. I noticed a slight noise in the first pic but it doesn't bother me at all. Great job.

I have to agree with you about the beauty of small birds Mark. And this set shows them off quite well.

Narrow DOF indeed... but you did a great job of getting the focus centered on the eye Mark.
All of these are really lovely with beautiful and very natural looking color.
Very well done Mark.

Beautiful set of these little ones Mark and yes a very narrow DOF.
Does that come from using the extension tube?

Thanks, all!

Martin, I was about 12-15 feet away with a 25mm extension tube. I was typically around f4 or f5.6. Surely that doesn't help the DOF. Most of these are full frame or very little cropping.

Clean and pleasing images, Mark. with nice colors and fine detail. I like the Dark-eyed Junco best, but I enjoyed the whole set.
