i was fortunate to have just gotten a nikon d3 and 24-70 lens (among other things)...i've been using a d300/17-55 combo and i have a thinktank speed speed demon (their smallest of three waist packs) that i keep this combo in and use for one-lens shooting opportunities. now with the d3 and 24-70 i think i'm going to need something bigger, but still want something as small as possible. i have other bags for the bigger glass, but often i am just taking the one lens with me on a hike or other local trips.

i know there is the next size up thinktank speed freak, but i'm wondering what other suggestions you have for a d3 plus one normal size lens setup. thanks!!

Think Tank Change Up or one of the Holster series are pretty small for belt bags.

Domke F-5XB shoulder/belt bag works really well for just a camera with lens.

Other waist belts are made by Kenesis and Lowepro. I don't know about the TT holsters, but the other two can be put on a shoulder strap too. The bigger hoslters are really large for a waist belt. I like vests plus shoulder carry more, just personal preferrence.

On the holsters, Kenesis tend to be 'medium' to 'light' padding, the Lowepro are thicker padding.

Someone else makes a nice waist belt too but can't recall now...maybe another can chime in.

lowepro has their new inverse series, might check that out. i actually have both the speed demon and freak. the d3 does fit in there along with a 70-200, but i'm hoping to find something smaller...the lowepro might be it. i have too many bags!!

do you think you can fit a d3 with 24/70 into the 100? that's all i really want to fit in there. i have a bigger bag (think tank speed freak) that will fit the above plus a 70-200......
