Travelled from Winthrop to a small town (?) called Evans in North East Washington. Not a lot to show for the day......the small falls in Kettle Falls, and a nice moon at Evans Campground later that night. |

Beautiful set. In #1 is that highlight in the center a sunbeam? #2 is slightly grainy, but I like the color with the moon and the lake. The waterfalls are composed well. |

Yes, its a sunbeam that was catching the spray....really helped with the shot! |

Great catch in the 1st, Andrew. The sunbeam is indeed casting delightful highlights on the water. |

I am always trying to get the ideal shutter speed for cascades and waterfalls. This seemed ideal for the highlighted spray. What was it? |

HI Craig, shutterspeed was 0.4 sec at f22.....I didn't have my tripod and I was in a very awkward spot to try and handbrace the camera. Reduces down OK but couldn't do a very large print. I am still learning all about waterfalls, this trip was my first chance to shoot them (we had many chances on this trip!) so I was trying many variations, some worked, some not so good! |

Great shots Andrew. I really like the splash of light in #1, it sets the shot off beautifully |
