i was thinking of going manual lens for my 400d and 5d, i currently have a canon 28 1.8, i dont really like this FL much on the 5d though i do like it on the 400d. i was thinking of selling the 28 and getting the faster nikon with an adapter. has anyone owned both of these and can you compare? any other suggestions? i dont want to spend more then $500
and like the 35mm FL on the 5d and want F1.4 and wanted to also use this as a normal prime on the 400d

I had the Nikkor 35mm f1.4 AIS a while back. Wide open it wasn't sharp, but very usable. Some people like its bokeh some doesn't.

Both are very good, but not highly regarded by the clique on this board. I loved both. The 28 is easier to use, but if I could only have one I'd take the 35/1.4.
