I spend two Saturdays in October taking pictures of the fall colors in Yosemite National Park. It is my favorite time of the year in the valley. This is my fisrt picture to develop out of hundreds and it was made from several combined exposures.

Very sweet, nice composition. It has a little too much HDR for my taste )the shadows are too bright).

I agree with Heinz, a few more shadows would look more natural. I like the scene a lot though and the reflection is excellent.

Beatiful, clear reflections. Good composition, too. I do agree with the others about lack of shadows, though.

Thanks for the feedback. I've added some shadow to this version of the photo. Is it improved enough?

Like the changes! This really adds crispness and dynamic range.

Kent, these turned out very nice. Nice to have met you up in the valley a couple of weeks ago.

Jim: I went to Yosemite on your recommendation and then ended up also going up the following weekend. A very understanding wife for my passion. I had a problem the first weekend with too low of a shutter speed on some of the pictures. The wind was very calm but the leaves moved just enough to blur some images. The soft leaves will look great in some of the pictures but I needed some sharp ones.

Thanks for your help.

Hey Kent,

A very interesting scene. You got some nice fall colors here and I like the 2nd version.

:-)

I think we all should acknowledge spouses and significant others who not only put up with but support our peripatetic wanderings as we do our photography! My wife is tremendously supportive and I'm very grateful for this. I think it helps that she is also an artist (musician) by profession, so she understands this quest.

Very nice like your rework the best gives a more natural feel to the image
