Such a cute bird that I've only seen once. Good job and keep them coming.

Thank you, Jeanette! I've lived in CA for 16 years and saw my first Bluebird about 2 years ago in Yosemite. Then, last weekend I'm on a casual hike with my kids in the open space behind our neighborhood in the East Bay, and on a particular ridge there were 6 to 10 of them flitting back and forth between these plant perches. I have hiked back there for years, never saw one. And then there they were! Not skittish at all. Posed nicely for me.

Welcome Jim! Great to have you here and what a fantastic first post !
All 3 of these are quite good with the last frame being the best IMO You achieved very good focus with the TC on the 400 and the BG is super clean. Looking forward to your participation on the forum and some great work to come

Welcome LTL'r and FTP'r Jim.

This is an excellent and beautiful series to start out with, very well done.
I see you have heeded the good advice given about some more dynamic compositions, the vert recrops are much better IMHO.
Very nice work Jim... I'll be looking forward to seeing more of it soon.

Jim, where were you in east bay? The only place I've seen them is at the Black Diamond Mines in Antioch. I'd love to go searching again because that time I only had a 24-105mm with me.
