A few shots from some MA testing yesterday. I shot all of these wide open for the purpose of seeing where the focus hit. They could all benefit from more dof but I still like them.

Tim

1 Glaucous-winged gull, full frame
2 Eurasian wigeon
3 American wigeon

Your 700mm macro seems well calibrated by the looks and gaze of that gull Yep that is sharp!
#2 is a nice floater showing nice details on the body
#3 I am looking for the imaginary feet but sure like the richness in the shot. The dark BG is pretty cool too

MA seems on, go for it now buddy!

The focus on these looks fine, Tim, judging especially with the first image. I particularly like the pose in the last shot.

Lookin' excellent here, Tim, fine focus on all 3!

P.S. Thanks for pointing out the lost syllable in "nictitating"

Best Wishes,

Beautiful. I especially like #2. The depth of field is just right, in my book!

Re-calibration appears spot on Tim, detail city on the Gull portrait with nice exposure. Both the Quackers look great and I love the stretch pose in the last frame with that wonderful underwing detail

Mission accomplished buddy
