Hi Guys here's my second stab at smoke photography.

Would love any advice on how i can improve. I find it very hard to focus on the smoke, can i ask if you guys use AF or manual?

Cheers

Phil

Lovely shots...

My votes technique wise:
* Manual focus at a predetermined distance
* High enough F stop to achieve generous depth of field
* tripod mounted
* gelled and snooted lights coming in at opposing angles

#1 is sexy in such a simple way
#2 is wonderful with the play of colors and shapes

Cheers for your input shutterslam,

I took these handheld as I like the freedom, however I think your suggestion of tripod mounting and pre-determined focus will allow me sharper focus.

I like #2 It looks really good w/ the black background. I'm gonna have to give this a try sometime. Nice job.
