The cost of LED light panels seem to be pretty outrageous for what you get. Has anyone ever made their own light panel? I would think that one could make a 24" x 24" panel at a fraction of the cost of the ones currently out there. |

If you don't value your time, yes DIY might save some money. But, if you put any $$ value on your time, and if there's any R&D or learning curve involved, it's often better to buy off the shelf. |

They also aren't bright enough to be very practical for most still photography uses compared to flash. They are used mostly for video. |
