I haven't been able to do much shooting lately, so I looked in my files to find some images that never got processed and may be they are worth posting. I hope you like them. None of these were taken with the 7D.

9 This last one is actually a composite of two images. I like it because it gives a good view of the interesting skin pattern of this Green Mamba while, at the same time, showing the face

I like #7 Sun and sand and surf and shorebirds sound very appealing right now Socrate Neat composite on the snake, they are very cool looking. Nice to see the warm light filling the wings of the GBH's and a passing skimmer Crispy clean on the turtle basking in the sun. The Nello osprey has amazing detail and a really nice look to the PP on it! The Greenie is puzzling me, seems off in color??

EXCELLENT captures Socrate!!! Love the detail of the feathers on the Osprey in #1. I assume these were with the 50D? What lens and how much cropping on the Osprey shot?

Socrate it must be a real pleasure to go over your HD and look at the files you have yet to post! Another fantastic set. The osprey is amazing, so well exposed and close. The gbh in that luscious light also take top honors.

Hey Socrate you've been keeping these away? The 1st shot has an unbelivable clarity to it! trying to figure out why...but I haven't seen such clarity from a loooong time...like 2 winters ago, when Chad was posting DIF w the cold/clean winter air
There's something so unreal about that greeenie shot....maybe the light..maybe the setting...a palm tree!
Killer IFs..best of them is #6 IMO.
I can see where you stiched the 2 shots together in the last 1

Wonderful series Socrate - your bin of unused images is what I would call my best shots. I really like the Willet in #7. The lighting and detail is spectacular. Well, they're all fantastic. Nice job balancing the exposure on the wings in all these.

Absolutely stunning, I love the Osprey the best

Thanks for your comments, Karl. The sun, sand and surf shorebirds are actually my fishing buddies. That dead fish was once one of my live baits that I like to give to my feathered friends. My best friend, though is "Pierino", the Great Blue in the picture. Smart guy! It stands about 15 feet from me and when I catch a fish he/she comes closer hoping to get the fish. Well, I sometimes do give the fish to Pierino and if I don't, as soon as I turn my back, s/he steals my bait from the bucket
The Greenie is puzzling me, seems off in color?? Yes and No
Yes: because the colors are not its normal colors
No: because that shot was taken during its breeding season. You can tell by their legs. Normally yellow, they turn "orangy", sometimes almost red, during the breeding season. Plus the overall colors become deeper and darker.
Yea, I was also impressed with the detail of the Osprey. Can you believe that shot was taken, this June, with my old, and now my wife's, 20D?

Hi Dan. Thank you for your kind words. I guess you too are attracted by those snakes This one in particular is one of the most venomous snakes on earth . But that is Okay, as long as they stay behind the glass.

Well thanks for explaining that on the Greenie because those legs were what put me over the edge I have never seen them that color before I like the company you keep while fishing, those are good friends
Must be something about the 20D Socrate, funny some of the most amazing shots for color and sharpness seem to have come from 20D's. Thanks buddy for sharing the inside scoop, throw Pierino a fish for me next time

WOW Socrate! I wish I had photos loke THESE in my unprocessed folders! They are wonderfully crisp and sharp with #1 being my fave. Thanks for showing us all how its done good sir!

Hi Gunther. Thanks for your comments. I went to look at the Exif of the Osprey shot and to my surprise I found out I took that with the 20D. I remember that day. I grabbed my wife's 20D thinking it was my 50D and I realized that when I started taking pictures. There was no much cropping on the Osprey shot, about 20-30%. Here are the data:

Amazing detail in #1 and I like the composition... Bonus is a Nello from both the Osprey and the fish.
Wonderful light on both 4 and 6 GBH's with very nice detail too.
#7 is my favorite in this nice series Socrate... LOVE the beach setting and the great low angle really put this one over the top for me.
All the rest are done very well... not bad at all for odds and ends.
