ok im pulling my hair out whats left of it.

I need to put together a cheap album for around 60-70 bucks.

I thought Id use blurb BUT they want to be able to proff/see it and blurb only shows 15 pages which is not doing me any good....

I have an acct with BRI and WHCC and when using whcc I dont get the roes designer thing... i cant even figure out how to goto the next page.

BRI is a lil better but the images look like someone poured pepper all over them, and worry that it will print like that as that is what happened to a image in blurb book...

BRI is easily under $70 depending on the size. You can't design in Photoshop/Indesign?

BRI's pressbooks smack of awesome. *All* of my clients are impressed with the quality of them. I had a past client come to me this week saying she printed up a book with Blurb and was so disappointed with the quality, that she wanted to order another coffee table book (BRI pressbook) from me.

my publisher has worked well for me in the past. they have an online bookshelf that has a flash slide show of the pages templates etc..

What do you mean: "BRI is a lil better but the images look like someone poured pepper all over them"??

Are you looking for software to design the album? or software to proof an album?

For proof, I use a little flip book flash plugin, see an example here:
http://www.blackcatwhitecatphotography.com/2009/10/tanya-vinits-wedding-album/

BRI also uses something similar in their http://www.approvemyalbum.com/

wow... very nice! what did you use to design it?

in the roes designer... looks like i shot everything at ISO 1234123423442332.5

its turrabul.

ok so i just spent HOURS designing a book on blurb and I only get the 15 pages... goddammit. I know blurb is not the best choice... but that is all this job is quoted for.

I used fotofusion to do design. Well worth it!

There's also photojunction that's free, I heard great things about it too.

You have to keep in mind though just how much design work you want to put into a $70 album (if that's what they are paying you) versus whether you want crud do go out with your name on it .
