Due to lean economic times we've had to move from our house to an apartment. This morning I was sitting here feeling sorry for myself and I won't even tell you what I had to go through just to make coffee since half of the coffee maker is lost, when suddenly I heard a racket outside like rusty door hinges and a scream. Being nosy I opened up the drapes only to see a gaggle of wild turkeys squawking like they do running after a girl who had screamed and was talking on her cell phone. The faster she went down the sidewalk, the faster the turkeys ran, I guess they were looking for something to eat! It was the funniest sight I've seen in a while and I thought about getting my camera, but remembered it was buried behind a mound of boxes and it will take days to get to it. I didn't even think about my Iphone, darn it. Anyway, the whole thing brightened my mood and I remember we're not too far away from a regional preserve where the turkeys probably came from and that I'll have time someday to go exploring, as soon as I dig out of these boxes! Sorry there's no photo, but maybe someone else has a turkey story or photo. |

Thanks Karl, I'm having coffee withdrawl symptoms. I'm hoping we'll be back in our house in 18 months, but in the meantime I'm going to enjoy a new experience as much as possible. There are lots of birds here in this apartment area, I can hear them in the trees and I brought all my feeders so soon I'll be posting hummers and finches again. |

I've not been around since last week - working on getting my new computer set up the way I want it is taking longer than I thought. This is the first day I have been to fm in a while. No time to post, but I had to take the time to post this link to make your coffee problems go away. This is no joke -it makes the best cup of coffee I have had... |

Corndog, I think a samurai sword is overkill and there's all that Samurai protocol about honor and stuff and lopping a turkey's neck, well ... I've heard of chickens with their heads cut off, but not turkeys. |
