Capture One 5 .cos files?

do the .cos files work like xmps? If I have someone edit images for me, can they email these files to me, drop them back into my own image collection and have the edits appear?

I thought I had read the Capture one was going to have xmp output at some point- did that not happen? I don't see any info on their site about it.

I couldn't say for version 5 as I haven't tested it, but it definitely works for version 4.

The .cos files contain all of the edits made to the RAW file. They are saved in a 'capture one' folder in the same folder as the RAW images. You can move them with the RAW images to transfer all of your edits.
