Evan - First, how did she find you? I'm just asking because most clients look at our work and admire our style and then choose a photographer based one what they have seen. I'm impressed first and foremost by the fact that she chose you as the photographer based on what I assume she has heard about you - obviously not what she has seen.

I would never have guessed that she was blind from these shots. The posing was done really well and the lighting is fantastic. Were you primarily directing her verbally, or did you and/or Amanda get in there and help her figure out what you were asking for? Lighting on something like this can be a challenge just because you want to bring out her muscle shape and tone, while simultaneously flattering her. I find it's easier with guys - strong contrast is often more flattering for men than women. The lighting on these is really superb.

As a note - I didn't find these NSFW, but I'm glad you noted it that way regardless. Better safe than sorry.

I don't get it. A tat? Breast enhancements?

Snap shots of a model with a great body. Good journeyman shots that lack artistic value.

That said, having that disability with the heart and resolve to achieve is truly inspirational.

You have managed to produce one of the most pedantically glib comments I have read in a long time. Congrats.

This looks as if the photographer and model achieved some beautiful photographs,

wow! i'll leave the crits on the lighting to those who know way more than me.

but what strikes me most about these images is WHO YOU ARE. these are remarkable considering the fact that she is blind! the comfort level you must have set up here is tremendous. great expressions, great eye contact. she picked the right guy. congrats.

always an idiot in the crowd......

I would have never imagined she was blind. The images a good, but the direction that must have been given to achieve her connection with the camera is second to none.

GREAT job.

Rags,
She didn't do it to BE inspirational. She did it because she is alive.
Folks with disabilities do athletics, the arts and occupations because we're the same as non-disabled, with the same drives and yearnings.
I'm not trying to be too 'picky' about inspiration, but to me, seeing folks more disabled than myself accomplish these things reaffirms the sameness of all of us, that something like a disability or a skin colour (for example) are meaningless differences.
But I see what you mean. She looks frigging fit and capable, blind or not.

Hey Paul... I really should respond.

I agree with you she didn't do it to be inspirational. However, I find it inspirational (to me) to see people with these disabilities do their personal best and when I think of whining about something, I can look to people like her & you to get a grip.

I was pretty succinct with my comment on your work & I'm sticking with it. It's something I would (& have ) said to my son, except I would have added "you're close, try harder". Some felt compelled to attack (well mini attack) me personally - I'm OK with that.

Seems to me giving flowering praise to any work that's posted does not help the OP (It may make them feel OK).

I think you missed an opportunity. I classify those poses as Nordstrom poses. My wife poses like that in front of a mirror when she buys clothes.

If you get an opportunity to get her again, consider asking her to turn around. She's a lifter, she probably has a great back and my nickle says she had dimples above her butt. Both great photographic opportunities and her neck is long. How would her back look if she raised her hair with both hands exposing her neck, full back - 3/4 back.

that may be her best side for the photog, shes hot - work her (she'll appreciate it). I sure would like to those images

Good luck with your shooting

Great idea with the pose, Rags, but I'm not sure about the dimples - I guess they are something you are born with, not something you have gained in the gym.

One thing that struck me as odd is that the OP said these were for her family. High heels and lingerie doesn't seem like the type of photos one distributes to their family.

I'm just saying, is all.

That being said, I agree with the red cast. Her skin looks a little redish. Also, I'd work on evening out the color of the back drop. They all seem to have light drop off near the bottom (some more than others).

Really nice job. Edit out the seams as somebody mentioned, but otherwise, fantastic eye contact... I can't get that from most of my sighted bodybuilders.

The lighting is a bit harsh on the face, but it's something that I have a hard time with too... getting striking lighting on the body to bring out "muscles" yet keeping the face lighting soft.

The title has "natural" in it. The first thing I noticed were her implants.

Very nice you really made her look great. Although she does not need much help if any.

From these pix you would never know she was blind.

Agree about cloning out the seam in a couple of them.

You have a real good sweet look when working with the white seamless.

Very nice Evan.

The first shot really looks like eye contact.

Your white seamless/lighting combo is always exceptional.

I agree on the removing line in #2.

I'm interested as well, as Deb asked, how she came to work with you. It was thinking about working with a blind model when I first saw your post that I came up with that "Meanwhile, back at the studio" blog post.
