Some recent work of mine. 1DMkIIn w/ 300/2.8L.

Sorry I haven't posted in a while. Luckily, it's because my workload has been increasing. When you run your own business, having lots of work is good, huh? But yeah, lots more clients and more portrait and wedding work starting to trickle in. Good stuff.

I like them. Nice work.

#6 and 7 and the kinds I like to shoot and I think I have some success selling to parents, but kind of wonder if it is better when you have great isolated images of the kids or if they are better when a defender is in the area chasing them, etc. Your thoughts since you do this more than I do?

I like to see others in the frame. It helps place the event as well as provide perspective in the image.

However, the solo shots sell well. Plus, they make GREAT fatheads!

tim: Good question and one I struggle with, so I keep track of the types of shots that sell or ones where parents specifically request....now, this could just be for this area, but what I have found out, is MOMS want just their boy/girl in the shot, where as in football, DADS want to see their son/daughter in action, especially if it is in football, they want their son shown either blowing up someone or leaving them in their wake!

What is funy, is how moms love the close up shots of just the face...I have even had dads tell me, "Wife wanted this one..." Go figure...

Makes sense about the moms--the great gender gap. Men are more sport oriented, women more "my kid" oriented. Happens with my daughter all the time, wanting "sportraits" more than collision pics of her soccer players. And the sweeter the expression, the better. So much for portrayals of tough competition...
