Canon gear-heads speculating/wish listing lens updates - only in Chinese(?).

My weird sense of humor. It's a universal Canon forum thread, like a form. Change the language, you could plug it right in here. Probably the Inuits have the same thread going.

Do they argue about using UV filters too?

Oh I get it. This is funny because people all around the world have their guesses about new developments. And here I thought only English forums did that.

UV filters are more important in the Antarctic than the Arctic.

True humanity, as a single but diverse culture:
We are a majority-English speaking forum...
Speculating about a Chinese-speaking forum...
Where both languages are citing lens specs with arabic numerals!

House with a sloped roof with a board hanging out of a window toward the left and old tree stump in front; Waffle character with two dashes above it, then a old Magnavox TV looking character; House with a sloped roof with a board hanging out of a window toward the left and old tree stump in front.

(description of the Chinese character version of L-O-L)

it was basically asking what is the walk-around lens for their 5d2.

24-70L: 58 ppl
24-105L: 42 ppl.

these are the most popular ones, count >80% (? guessing, didn't calc.)

I am surprised to see there are 14 people using 50L for this. wow.

I had a Chinese friend of mine translate part of that post, and I offer that surprising translation below.

Chinese Forum Person #1: "My dog has no nose"

Chinese Forum Person #2: "Oh really, how does he smell?"

Chinese Forum Person #1: "Terrible"

I can't even see the Chinese, just garbage characters. The site wants me to install something - no thanks!

The OP basically wants to collect consensus/poll on the lens that everyone is using and asks for feedback on the lens.

From what I can tell "The Invincible Rabbit Head" would be the Chinese version of our PetKal. Why they want to hang him, I have no idea.

And Arabic numerals are actually from India. The only reason "the west" calls them Arabic numerals is because we learned about them from the Arabs, who learned about them from the Persians, who learned about them from the Indians themselves.

It's a small world.
