Really isn't that great of deal for $2k I don't think

A new D300 can be had for around $1300, and a 70-300 VR, is around $550 I think (awesome lens for the money)

50mm 1.8 can be picked up used for around $75, a Qantaray anthing would never go on anything I own, and ext tubes are of fairly limited usefulness (IMHO, to each his own)

Not a horrible deal, but I think you could probably find all those items used for that price pretty easily, or even less

Ive seen D300's selling for less than $1000, and I bought my 70-300 VR for $475 for example. I'm sure you could pick up the other stuff for under $500 as well assuming you really wanted each piece

I was going to say, $2000 doesn't sound like an unpassable deal. D300's are starting to come down to the 1000-1300 range and that makes for getting a seriously better kit than the one on CL for less than 2000.

hmm...I've been looking and I've found a D300 for $1350 but the 70-300 VR was around $520, the 50mm was $250 and the backpack was $150 (not sure what flashes are being sold with all this stuff but if they're decent speedlights then those are going to be around $200 each). Not counting the speedlights or filter or tubes (agreed that the filter and tubes are unnecessary) it's still over $2000. If they are decent speedlights then it's still a deal. *shrug* who knows. I still cry a little when I see stuff I want but can't afford.

No, the 50 f/1.8 is definitely not 250... The 1.4 is

Not really a deal I would be worried about missing either, like said before you can piece the same kit up used cheaper if you look around.

well, at least we can all agree that having no money and a list full of gear-wants always makes people want to cry!
