Hey all: here is my first post here - an engagement session from this past Sunday at Skylands Manor in Ringwood, NJ. Got there much later than planned due to bad traffic, but just in time for the best light of the day!

Comments Welcome

Matt your compositions are good but your lighting is way over the top. 13 is a beautiful image.

I think you have some really nice stuff here! My favs are #1, #9 and #13. My only beef, which is unrelated to your pics, is your logo banner. If there is a way to tone it done, make it smaller or slap it across the bottom I think it would be less distracting.

And I know what you mean about Sunday and starting late! We totally forgot about daylight savings and had to call our engagement couple to see if they could come earlier. I felt like a boner, but it all worked out.

Hahaha! I truly never considered the literal interpretation of this phrase, but let's try... My take is along the lines of embarrassing, ie., boner while up at the chalkboard doing an algebra equation in front of the class.

This post proves how much time I waste here!

Thanks.... Lighting except 11-14 provided by the Sun. End of day warm colors. Debated whether to 'neutralize' the color with WB, but decided to keep them as they were.

Yep, forgot it was daylight savings when I made the appointment. Found out the day before and then got stuck in an hour long traffic jam....

I love the natural feel to most of the shots, a few of them might have benefited from different angles or fill like 6 & 7, in 7 the shadows falling on her face are a little distracting. I really love the light in #4.

a little red on the processing and I would get rid of the logo opacity change line or whatever people call it and just go with your logo and name.
all in all some decent shots you can be proud of.
