When wieving images on my screen i want to dedicate my center button to 100% magnification, but im not sure if it is Medium or High magnification that gives me
100% view ?

restore it to its default setting, that will give you 100%... i think it's medium

Kind of a funny story, when I first got my D700, I had it set for center button to high magnification, and I always thought my pictures looked soft in-camera, but then looked fine on screen. I thought I was looking at 100%, but high mag is > 100%, which makes pics look soft. Duh. I have it on medium now.

I never understood what the point of looking a photo at >100% is. Why would they even give you the choice. Quite annoying when I scroll the wheel and it doesn't stop at 100% and I have to back off to check sharpness. Oh well.

thanks guys, mine is set for medium now. And i agree with you, i dont see the point either in magnification larger then 100%. Does anyone use it all ?
