Has anyone ever shot at the Huntington Library in Pasadena, CA? A female friend wants to do some shots there and was wondering if anyone has shot there and had recommendations on shooting. Thanks.

Will cross-forum post, please remove either if needed.

I would search for other's shots from this location solely to make sure you don't only do what's been done before. Be creative.

Unless you're in after hours, they probably won't let you bring lights. If so, shoot wide and wherever the ambient light asks.

Make sure you check out their rules regarding photography on their grounds.

Don't bother bringing anything besides your camera body, lenses, tripod, and camera mounted flash unless you are ready to pay for the right to shoot on the grounds with additional equipment. This includes reflectors. And yes, they really enforce this.

On the other hand, the Botanical Gardens are beautiful! There are plenty of shaded areas where you can shoot and still get nice ambient light shots. You can check out the different themed areas here. My personal favorites are the Japanese, Chinese, and Jungle areas.

Thanks for the suggestions guys. I will check out the links tonight to prepare.

I'll be shooting with a 20D and either/or Tamron 17-50 2.8 and Canon 70-200 f4.0 non-IS. I also have a 430EX I. Tri-pod if needed.
