Here is a photo I captured in Ireland a few weeks ago. The colors are dramatic - wondering whether it is too "surreal"? I combined two exposures together - one for the sky / mountains and one for the lake.

Thanks Jim. It was a rare sunset - I have stayed in this location several times before and never seen anything like it. We drove all day from Dublin to Killarney in Ireland stopping along the way to see some sights and arrived 30 mins before this scene (not planned). I jumped out of the car, got out the gear and began shooting. |

Well, to me the best of test of whether a certain image is done well as opposed to being overcooked in some way, is that when you first see a shot, you say 'WOW!', instead of saying 'Hmmm. That looks strange...' In this case the 'WOW!' escaped my lips immediately, and even after reading that you combined 2 shots to create the image, I still never had any of the 'that looks strange' feeling. Or to be more succinct about it, "GREAT SHOT MATE!" |

I think it's great. The colours are stunning and I like the silhouetted mountain and foreground. Well done on the blend. |

Magnificent colour and magnificent picture ! I have spent a total of only 6 weeks in Ireland , so I can not say how rare these conditions are , but I think this may be a one-off for that part of the world . Congratulations on being there with the kit , and the skill to use it ! |

wow..amazing colors. You did a great job with the blend. That would be lovely with a wider angle too. |

Thanks for the feedback. This image will surely end up on my wall, I am hoping that it may end up on a few others as well! I have been waiting for a chance to produce a rare image of a well known landscape - the Lakes of Killarney are a landmark in Ireland. |
