Brian and Crystal first met at the ice skating rink... so it seemed appropriate that we do an engagement session at the rink and in the park that the rink is located in. Brian is friendly with the operators of the ice rink and he arranged for us to have the ice all to ourselves.

CUTE! Man, I wish I could get an ice rink all to myself.

Nice shots! Where is that path - that is really something.

I love 2! I just find her pants look like tights - which makes me feel kind of awkward.

5 & 6 are very awesome. i love how you centered them in 5 with their heads in an open space. I like the pose on 6 more than 5. I just can't get into the leg up pose, but it is cute and I know they'll love it!

7 & 8 - I have a new method of approaching engagement shoots. I try to make a date out of things. I love these detail shots - gives us a sense of place. I would love to see a few more shots of them in action!

10 & 11 - nice leading lines. Great composition.

Thanks for sharing!

And please don't tell my husband about that watch. ;-)

Oh - I love how he's wearing hockey skates and she has figure skates on. So cute!

DB... they were shot in Warananco park in Roselle, NJ

that watch is no joke... I looked it up and I'm seeing prices of about 2G's... but then again, he did buy her a nice ring.

Great set, Rich!

5, 8, and 12 are really good.

I think I'd like 6 better with either more or no tilt at all.

I LOVE this session idea a LOT! That is awesome that you got the rink all to yourselves. I love the ring shot with the skates.

Okay, so truth be told... I met my husband at a skating rink too (roller skating) but we also ice skate as well. Anyway, I couldn't resist sharing that. And he proposed to me in the middle of the skate floor at the rink where we met over the wireless microphone (he was the DJ)

6 made me gasp in real life

15 is probably one of my all time favorite ring shots, it's relative to the couples interests and still gets the idea across + showing off one sexy ring.

3a is awesomeness!

Incredible set, good job.

And here I was thinking the watch was going to be strapped to a hockey puck, ala the "g-shock" TV commercial.

Thanks for all of the comments guys... It was a lot of fun, especially shooting while skating... I had the 1DmkIII, figuring that was the most heavily built camera i had...

so you had skates on too?

I love to skate, but not sure I would wear skates while taking serious pictures like this.
