This is my first attempt at shooting photos while walking by a local cemetery. I thought these two shots were interesting. Comments are welcome.

I love cemetaries. My wife and I like to read the headstones and then make up stories about the people and their lives. It's so sad when you see a husband buried who left room on the headstone for the wife, but it's clear that she must also have died long ago but never was buried there. Probably remarried.

Anyway, my comment is that I'd like to see shots where you can read the inscriptions. For example, that first shot would be more impactful if the inscriptions told a story, somehow. The stones leaning towards each other could be an echo of a loving relationship, but it loses something if I don't have names to go with that idea.

Brought me back to the "graveyard book"
http://www.thegraveyardbook.com/

Incredible book and even better audio book

As for the shots - if these two photos had to tell a story - what would they say? (I'm only asking because I'm struggling with that question looking at the photos).

1st one could say, mother/father/child - ended too soon...but the small headstone's too far off right

2nd could say - the dividing line - but the closer headstone obscured by the foliage muddies the narrative

just my 2 cents - thanks for sharing those photos
