Actually from the Upper Cathedral area. Unfortunately, I was cursed with brutally blue, clear skies. These were getting toward days end, but even so...

Of course, in my world, the fact that I can get out there and not see anyone for six hours or so has it's advantages.

I really wanted that big moon tonight too, but it was not to be as I had to get back.

Hi Craig
Weather not withstanding, seriously good comps. I have had Capital Reef on my list for some time. This moves it up a few notches.

Hey Craig,

I think these are very good shots! Both are very nice compositions, but especially the first one. It really shines! I need to plan a trip up there soon.

Nice ones Craig - I like that first image as well. That big moon would have been fantastic out there - too bad you weren't able to stay to capture that sight.

The harsh light suits these landscapes and your compositions. Very good.

I agree, these are both good shots. I especially like the first. Good work despite the harsh conditions.

Thank's very much for the compliments!

Jim, let me know if you ever make it out here.

Al, it's one of my favorite places to roam around. An occassional tourist, but a lot of solitude.

I guess I should be glad for the clear skies, twice I've been out there in bad weather, once snow and once flooding, and it can be hard to get out of.

I actually preferred number 2, but maybe because in person the sandstone appeared especially tortured. And, it's off the beaten path from Upper Cathedral Valley since I went in from I-70 and not the Hanksville area.
