Smallish sailboats that are used on the Nile River- and probably elsewhere. These were on the Nile near Luxor- 300 miles upriver from Cairo.
I saw no felucca "pleasure boats" used for private yachting- just working boats hauling people or freight. Some were for tourist excursions, also.
#1 and #2- Sunset.
#3- At the end of the day, young crew members tying the sails to the masts.
Scanned from slides and converted.

Charlie, I really like the comp on that first one - it placed me right in the frame.

Peace,

Todd

Last one works for me.
The others are too dark, too little detail for my taste. But the last works well as a pure silhouette shot.

Thanks for the feedback, guys.
Scott, I agree about the darkness of the first two. When I converted to B&W I had to make a choice of grey but with some remaining detail in the shadows, or black without any detail. Didn't like the grey because it looked washed out, so I ended up with pretty good blacks, but no details. The color versions didn't have the problem, but the conversions did.

Nice sihlouettes, Charlie.
#1 is my favorite. Nice sense of peace in these shots. #1 is the type of shot I can return to for regaining that lost feeling in the mess of day to day life.
