Would someone be willing to rent me their D90? I have no idea how the details would all work, but just checking...

I dont have any I wish I did...but I think places like Calumet will rent out stuff to you through the mail.

Buy a used D80 on eBay, do your project, immediately resell it. I've done that several times with 500mm lenses.
