It's listed on the B&H site (coming soon) - of course, with Zeiss, "announced" can be a long way from "available at a retailer near you"!

Superb news; the ZF version is a beauty. I've been waiting for this one to be announced for 12 months.

I think the taper at the end is kind of ugly... doesn't change the performance, but...

i don't personally care what a lens looks like. i do admit to playing "spaceships" with my Ls when i'm alone, but in public, it's all about IQ.

Do you jettison the tripod ring from the white starships?

I didn't mean a beauty in looks, but performance, but I think the Zeiss lenses are great looking overall.

No, you need to go to the manufacturer's site:

OK

I will stick with the fine Canon EF 35mm F1.4 L Autofocus lens

I don't do the whole alternative lens deal since I still need my good old autofocus (despite what some people think, the 5D2 does AF), but man do the Zeiss lenses just look beautiful. If I had to choose my lenses based on looks alone, those suckers would be in the bag!

Unfortunately, as pointed out earlier, I buy my lenses to use them not to look at them. Thus, the Zeisses (Zeiss'? Zeissi?) probably won't ever find a place in my bag.

zeiss lens isnt all just looks though, it has great IQ as well minus the AF .. i cant see myself replacing the 35L either given the price. if it was cheaper perhaps.

I would have to see a comparison between the 35L and the Zeiss.
If you don't use AF, and the lens is as good as the L, it makes sense. It is over $500 cheaper than the L. It would make a great companion to the ZE 21.

Haha just to be clear, I'm sure that this little sucker (and the rest of the Zeiss line as well) performs awesomely, I just need me some autofocus, so it's not for me.
