Not positive about the bird ID. Indigo Bunting or Grackle.
From Florida, early spring.

I'm curious Scott. Why got give the bird few strokes with the Sharpen Tool to add sparkle to his eye and more texture to his feathers?

Yep, needed that. It was sharpened, but not aggressively enough.
thanks again, Karen.

Very nice original and AuntiPode's rework adds even more.

At least from where I grew up, southeastern PA, doesn't look like a grackle...both in color and I don't recall that prominent a forehead (if birds even have foreheads?)...grackles were more like mini-crows. But then I am not an ornithologist.

Bird has been ID'ed by those in the know on the Nature Forum.
And the answer is....

Boat-Tailed Grackle.

Well, not a Yankee grackle , not familiar with the Florida variety.

I prefer AuntiPode's version. Beautifully colored bird.
