I havent had my F100 for a long time and I'm kind of new to SLRs. I was listening to the sounds it makes when I release the shutter and it makes a sort of clanging noise that reverberates. Is this normal? |

I have to admit it's been a while since I heard a F100, but clanging doesn't sound too good. Does everything work properly? |

A direct comparisson should be conclusive. How much did you pay for it? |

I'm not sure what that means exactly, but the F100 is not particularly noisy. |

P.S. an SLR will in general be more noisy than a compact, well maybe not so much noisy, but you can hear it doing what it does; Mirror up, shutter open-close, mirror down, film wind. |

I used an F100 quite a bit when I shot film. It is a quiet camera, its functions (mirror operation, film advance) soft and muffeled. Hard to describe, but there should be no "reverberations". Have Nikon look at it for a free repair quote. Nice clean used examples can be found for $200 or so on flea bay. |

Everything seems to be functioning perfect. I just finished up a roll of film. I paid $190 for it. It is, cosmetically(haha), in excellent condition. |
