Wow, The refurb at Adorama is still there, or it is a new one, $1199. Probably a Nikon early holiday gift for thjose who love the small footprint and big quality effect.

$1199, used to be over 2x that not to long ago for a used one

does it still get the shots or what

Yes, I get nothing for this...

i don't see the reason some people still charge 900-1000+ for a D2Hs, and 450-600 for the same condition D2H.

The JPEG engine was the best, till the D3 and its came around... Also much better screen on it (about the only drawback to the D2H is the screen).

I got my first D2H about six months ago and have put about 2,000 images a month on it. I just got my first D2HS last week. I can already tell that it was the right upgrade for me.

The RAW picture quality, especially color of skin in shadows, and less noise, is enough better to justify it.

JPG's are greatly improved as expected so now they are much more usable if I want to skip creating JPG's from RAW to save time. On my D2H the JPG quality wasn't good enough at higher ISO's so I had no choice but to use the RAW instead. Now I have a choice which is helpful.

The bigger shot buffer, slightly faster AF, and very usable LCD screen are icing on the cake for me.

I really enjoyed my D2H but I think I am going to enjoy my D2HS even more! 8^)

I few months ago a came across a similar offer on D2Hs, it was brand new (not refurb) with full Nikon warranty for £499 in a shop of a major photo-equipment retail chain here in the UK, normally we have to pay more than you guys across the pond for our cameras. I thought about it long and hard and decided it wasn't for me (too big/bulky for me). For the right person that was a great deal.
