I took a walk this morning down the old country lane in the Palos Forest Preserves southwest of Chicago. The forest preserve district is restoring the area patch by patch using prescribed burns and cutting to get rid of the exotic and invasive buckthorn and Amur honeysuckle. Here, the right side of the lane has been restored to what used to be here; a savannah. The right side is choked with Amur honeysuckle, the shade of which kills the native wildflowers.

The panorama is two 5D MkII shots stitched with Photomerge in Photoshop. Interesting contrast, I think.

Have you two right hands? You don't sound like one of those people who is always right...

Nice snap, but would you clarify which side is which for the botanically impaired?

This is a pretty cool shot. The trail is put in a pretty good spot, and I like the trees' shadows. It would be nice if you could darken the sky somehow, maybe mild HDR or something like that.
