All,
I apologize if this has already been discussed, but I can't find the thread! Hopefully somebody can point me in the right direction either way.

I installed PS CS3 on my new Windows 7 laptop (x64), did my best to install the latest ACR, but I still cannot open my 40D RAW files. Has anybody defeated this beast yet?

thanks!
Logan

You have to replace the current Camera Raw plugin in the Adobe plugin folder with the newly downloaded one. I believe there are instructions on the Adobe site if you want more details of how to do it.

Paul, thanks. I have already replaced the files, however (in the Program Files and Program Files (x86) folder. I've been trying to find older versions of the ACR file (the one released after the 40D came about).

Does the 40D work with CS3? I thought you had to have CS4 to be able to use the ACR version that allows you to use 40D RAW files?

I've been using CS3 with my 40D files on my XP Pro (x86) system for a couple years. So the 40D is definitely compatible with CS3.
