Anyone using Billings by Marketcircle? Link: http://www.billingsapp.com/

We've been thinking about picking this app. up but wanted to know if anyone has any experience using this? It's actually quite affordable - about 40 bucks. Would be awesome if it did everything it says it does in an excellent manner.

Apparently it takes care of everything from custom designed invoices to tracking anything having to do with payments.

Give it a shot in the demo mode. I tried it in a previous version, but it didn't have detailed enough invoice template editing for my needs so I went in a different direction. We also wanted the ability to actually _process_ payments (e.g., credit cards) from within the app we use and this didn't offer that (and I don't think it's intended for that).

I've been using it for about a year now. However, I started using it for my graphic design work, which I bill by the hour so it was perfectly suited for that.

Check out the following
www.xero.com
or Grand Total for the Mac

BTW, say away from Quckbooks for as long as you can. It's a great program for what it is but you will get sucked in and ever get out.

Am I the only one that designed their own invoices? I just use Pages on my Mac, and made a pretty invoice... It's not all automated, but it's a simple template, and as payments come in I update it and reflect their payments on the invoice by date etc... *shrug* works for me...

I do my own custom ones... but automation would be wonderful as I'm getting tired of having to manually make these.

Though I did forgot to mention that I stumbled across something pretty cool the other day...

http://tave.com

You can handle billing, payments, leads, invoicing, contracts, scheduling, all online in one place. Pretty interesting. Not sure if it will work for me or not yet, as I don't really like doing my work on the web (it scares me that I can't backup all my own data myself, for one thing, not to mention that you can't access it if you're on the road without internet).

Nope. I went even further than you did. Wrote a program to automate filling in the pretty invoices I designed with previous payments listed.

Anyone here used ShootQ and Tave? Just wondering how they compare...

I was going to check out ShootQ, but they ask for CC information which means they will charge you once your trial is up. No thanks! I don't go for the companies that will take advantage of those who just don't get around to deactivating... at the end of the trial it should just stop working unless you activate it and pay.

You can access it through your iPhone (it has its own interface). So no need to carry your laptop around.

Here is a good comparison:

We tried both and stayed with Tave.
