I have a corrupt card that I need images from. Some of the images display and can be saved but when I try to copy the contents of the card it gives me a corrupt file warning. When I right click on the icon and go to properties it shows there is data there but if I try to view the thumbnail it says no preview available. I would think this is a common problem but the search feature did not give any results.

There are threads on this in the General Gear forum, but you're probably looking for Rescue Pro which is a program that comes with some of Sandisk's Extreme range of cards. there are others, so do a quick search on the other forum.

Thanks Steve, I tried using recuva and I got the files onto my hardrive but they still will not display. I tried opening a file in ps and got the message "unknown or invalid jpeg marker type is found".

Sorry to hear that. I use Rescue Pro for my CF cards and it works great. I use a program called Handy Recovery on my hard drives if I have a problem. It's not free though, so you might want to decide how much those images are worth to you. I've not had any experience with recuva (?).

One piece of software I have used is

You can even recover from a formatted card.

What caused the corruption?

Did you format the card before use?

Have seen a lot of problems with cards not being formatted by the camera before they are used.

I've used PhotoRescue Wizard with success.

They say "Data Recovery is not always possible, but once we recover data, we do guarantee its integrity: once the demo previews your pic, they will be recovered and usable full size or you get your money back", and you can get as far as seeing the previews with the free trial, ie see what you're going to recover before paying.
