While I was walking around the pyramids at Giza, a charter bus (or two) drove up and spit out a bunch of British students who were on an educational/cultural cruise that included Egypt. The ship docked at Alexandria and they went off touring by bus. And camel.
Scanned from slides and converted.

Jeez, Charlie, these kids get to take field trips to the Pyramids.
When I was their age, we went to some greenhouse or a nut factory! We sure weren't riding camels!
Looks like they're having a great time with the experience.

Tim,
Yes, they were having a great time, especially when they were mounting the camels (careful, Timmy).
These were among the "favored" of British society, i.e. wealthy families. They all went to public school in Britain. Amusingly, "public school" over there is roughly the same as "exclusive private school" is in the U.S. Imagine wealthy families in Connecticutt sending their kids on an educational/cultural summer-long cruise- similar kind of thing.

Ah yes, the favored little princelings. I believe the Brits coined the first PC expression for middle easterners..."wogs" Worthy Oriental Gentlemen. Nice bit of lifestyle here. and if the ship sinks, we have "The Lord of the Flies"
