I was at a friend's studio and had the opportunity to photo some of his latest sculpture work. He can better explain than I, but he carves objects out of wood and upon completion they look identical to the real thing...from ipods including accessories to life preservers to whatever...

...and also this sums up my mood today...

So I submit - Frederick Ellenberger's "Dog Poo"...

Yes, but why?
Looks like a cross between poo and male anatomy. Not a pleasant mixture.

not something I would want to hold in my hands.

not something I would want to hold in my hands.

the shadows seem a little bit much and cause a loss of details of the sculpture.

Are you sure you really want to see them?

On the other hand, the lighting and composition make this the most artistic looking poo I've ever seen.

Without a doubt, the best poo shot of the day.

You know an eternal junior high humored turd like me will enjoy this!
Oh, the jokes to be played with fake poo!
Reminds me of a funny scene from the movie, "Top Secret."

Picking up and handing over to the gag-man, "Here, you dropped your fake dog poo."
Gag man, "What fake dog poo?"

Thanks for the comments guys!

I plan to have a series of his other pieces soon. But I loved the DOF on this shot (exploring my new siggy50)...so I thought I'd share this one first.
