Have you ever had a picture which, when you look back on it, could have been so much more? This is that picture for me. Absolutely no color alterations, some light post processing and a horizontal flip. I could not resist making the boats go in the correct color order...

Nice image.
I like your idea of sequencing RGB but not sure everyone will get it.
I prefer the original in terms of the boat color. On my better monitor, the reds appear a bit too much and might need the saturation pulled back a bit. Karen's (AuntiPode's) re-work improves the water and you might play with the contrast and pull in some blues into the water, selectively.

Thanks for the advice, I just got home from work. When I look at it it looks... tilted. Just not quite right.

I like the idea of popping just the color of the water, I will give that a shot.
