Help on ID of spider

If anyone could provide me with an id on this spider, I would appreciate it. Have never seen one like this.

I was out shooting landscapes this morning, and I felt this big thing on my neck. I flung it off and it landed in the water where I was shooting. I looked to see what it was, and I didn't think it could make it out without help. I lowered a stick along side of it. This was one smart spider. It crawled up the stick to safety, and later provided me with some nice shots.
