It'll be my first one and I am overwhelmed. Any recommendations from veterans on who gives some of the better classes?

Looking forward to also meeting some of you FM peeps.

I'm also curious about what speakers ya'll have enjoyed.

Look at the speakers' work and sites. If you don't like those, you're less likely to get something useful out of the session. The opposite applies as well.

More importantly, WHEN AND WHERE is the FM GTG going to be?

Registered both Amy and I. Tip: snag a hotel registration with the WPPI group rate, then watch the MGM site and re-book if something lower comes up as it gets closer. We got $69/night last year doing that.

it is tough to choose which to attend .. master class .. plus class ..

the only one i see and recognize is Neil V M on lighting

Matt and I are still deciding on how to get our best bang for our buck. Is WPPI totally worth it? Or would we get more out of doing some kind of mentorship or a workshop together. I'm not sure if we can take off that much time, either.

Yeah, I'm planning on going, and my priorities are:

50% social
40% trade show
10% classes

Point being that I don't think WPPI is the best place to learn how to make a standout business... because there are thousands of others hearing the same things.

good point Tony .. with that said i just booked the exhibit only ..

and to share .. i just checked with expedia and for 2 person with direct flight from nyc to las vegas with a room in the signature tower its about alittle less than 500 per person .. from sat morning to weds afternoon.

Man. I really want to go. Just don't know how long I can go for. I am taking lots of time off of work next year for shooting already!!

Ditto, there are probably better places to get "great, or more taylored" learning, but WPPI for me is about meeting people, networking and being in the moment. I went last year and had a great time. I think one of the things I found is that I was hangin out and going to the classes of some of the "lesser know" speakers, and that for me was a good thing, learned a lot.

I would say you owe it to yourselves to go and see for yourself.

I am also planning on going, specifically for the classes, but also for the networking opportunities.

Seems like good times and I also want to see all of the different albums and options that are out there.

jose villa's master class is already sold out

The plus classes are excellent for the money. Many of the guys teaching these 2 day classes are really good. For 579 you get what some of these guys charge 2k for at their own seminars.

Also the master classes at 3 for 100 bucks is a sweet deal. 3 x 2 hour classes with a small intimate size class for that kind of money is a great deal.

Given that less than 10% will do anything with what they learn that's probably not so much of a problem.

Has anyone here gone to a plus class? Those sound interesting - I may talk to Matt about something like that. We've been interested in Cliff Mautner's workshop, I wonder if his plus class will be similar.
