Hey guys I am not sure if such a thread has already been done..... but I was wondering if you guys are willing to show off your favorite Ring shot?!

The image you add to this thread MUST be the one you think you perfected thus far.

Lets Play!

I will start...

I would post some, but it's pointless. Maurice will win this thread when he sees it.

I'm disqualified. I have yet to feel I've perfected one.
Ring on!

If we play by those rules.... I would never bother ever posting any images.

2 points for being honest though.

Are these done with macro lenses? Tubes? I must get my hands on one or both of those.

17-40 f/4L
I need a better macro than the 100mm pentax with the EOS adapter, manual stop-down, and uber dimness....

this is my first ring shot to make it to FM

The close up shots in my post were both taken with the 100 f/2.8 macro. The wide one was taken with a 17-40 f/4L.

If we're throwing the "perfected" rule out... two from my favorite wedding this summer. tOObZ

Thanks for sharing Richard, I am regularly surprised what a good job the 17-40 does for "macro" work... that said, when I use the 100mm manual I can see why I want a "real" macro lens.... after I buy a few fast primes

I can't decide between this on:

and this one:

Both from my last wedding. The first one is of the bride's wedding ring and the "sisterhood pendants" she had made for her bridesmaids.

...Both taken with Rebel and EF-S 60mm f/2.8 (macro).

No brainer for me, although others have better shots.

Hope folks don't mind the "unartsy" context in this one? The newly engaged Heather asked for a photo to send to her mom, who lives out of town...this was not part of an engagement shoot...yet...
