I'm not sure whether this belongs in the people forum or sports so I'll just post it here. I work at my college newspaper and we often do features on some of our standout athletes. Most of the time when I or any of the other photographers get a photo for the feature they are fairly bland. I've been trying to experiment more lately, but would like to look at other photos for some inspiration. Anyone have any they can share or possibly point me to some of their favorites from magazine's etc. I know I've seen some good ones before so let's see 'em.

Great link to Dave Black! I remembered the four square but not where I had seen it. Very helpful link.

Oh man. Robert Seale is soooo good. Just looking at his site made me want to pick up my camera and go shoot something cool.

These threads always just make me re-affirm I have no idea how to light a portrait. I look at these websites (and others) all the time wishing I had that much command over studio lights. Most of my good portraits are happy accidents. =)

Jonathan - I'm with you! The accidental photographer!

Guess I'll start deleting now and go spend some more time at Robert Seale's site...
