Close to pulling the trigger on Windows 7 here but before I do I wanted to see if there are any issues anyone is familiar with running NX2 on Windows 7... anyone?

Initial thoughts on Windows 7?

I'm running NX2 on Win7 w/o issue. As for Win7 itself, it's faster than Vista and at least as stable. I've been running it for about a month now and am quite happy with it.

Peace,

Todd

I've been using it since the Beta release in February and even that was rock rock solid -- never a crash. The real release may be even more stable and fast. I have a low opinion of Microsoft but it seems like they got it right this time.

Installed Win7 this weekend and NX2 seems to be working fine so far... then again I just opened a NEF to check it, nothing serious till next week's shoot.

I'm right there with Poisonpill. Been running the Beta on my laptop since release, and I've been running RC1 as my AT work computer since that release. We got a pre-release a while ago and everyone has been throwing 64-bit version, but due to a few things that clash with Server 2008 I haven't upgraded yet.

Rock solid OS. I'm a big fan.

Just loaded it on a new laptop with Win 7. Dual core with 4 gigs ram. Loads super fast. This weekend I may have time to load some pix,

Just installed it this morning on my new system and seems OK. Is there a 64bit version of NX2? I think I'm running a 32bit version on my i5 750 system and would rather run a 64 bit version if there is one.

No 64 bit version just yet, but apparently (support for 64 bit) is in the works. The current version isn't supported but works. There is still a niggly bug I had on 7RC where print dialogs were popping up *behind* the editing screen and making the program apparently hang.

I keep getting out of memory errors from NX2 under W7 Pro x64. Running on a new i7 860 with 8GB. Open task manager and there is ample unused memory at the time of these errors.

I've run NX2 on both Vista 64 SP2 as well as Win 7 Enterprise and no real differences for me.

On Win7, I did have very minor graphic glitches dealing with dialog boxes, but I chalked that up to video driver issues.

As far as performance, though - indistinguishable.

Quad-core overclocked to 3.0Ghz, 4GB 1066Mhz RAM.

Running NX2 and Windows 7 64bit on my 3Ghz quad core with 4 gig of ram.

Works flawless for me.

On a plus note, NX2 in Windows 7 is about 50x faster than on Vista.

I no longer have issues with thinking that NX2 is slow as all hell.

Every once in a while I will have a small glitch where switching to another window with NX2 open will result in the NX2 toolbar being on the right hand side of whatever window I switch to. Minimizing NX2 fixes this, but it's strange nonetheless.

Update on my memory errors. After I did the clean install, I apparently didn't updat CaptureNX2 to 2.2.2. That update has seemingly cured the memory leaks and it is now running perfectly for me also.

I've done the upgrade and have to agree on all counts...

NX2 runs not only fine on W7, but it's faster and more responsive in every way... noticeably so. Cool.

And Windows 7 itself has been - knock on wood - perfectly reliable and stable. Weird.

True words, on the same machine 945 quad 8gig 64 bit NX2 smokes through batch processing NEF in half the time.

I am running NX 2.2 on my new machine with W7 Pro 64bit, i7 920 processor OC'ed to 3.8Ghz, and 12GB of DDR3 RAM. Works flawlessly and it is actually fast!
