This was taken while at my friend's house for his daughter's first birthday party. Towards the end of the party the cats got used to all the people and started wandering around. This one likes to observe everyone from the top of a chair in the kitchen.

Hi Michael,

What an acrobatic cat. Nice catch.

Best wishes,

A very unusual place for a kitty!

I actually had to run into the other room to grab my camera for this pic. I was able to get a single frame off before he jumped down.

This cat in particular gets on top of all sorts of things in my friend's house. Sometimes you will see him on the very top of the cabinets.

Great capture. Love the DoF and the composition.

Lighting has a great feel to it and the position of kitty is very interesting - then there's the eyes! Great!

Thanks, I love my 50 1.2!! This was taken at 1.6.

The table sits in front of a sliding glass door which provided the light. I did some work in post to try to put the focus on the cat and not the surrounding table/floor.

That's a great catch but I can't say I like the tilting bacground. The wall in one way and the cut table the other.

Happy shooting,
Yakim.

Thanks for the feedback. I didn't have too much time for the composition, I knew the cat was getting ready to jump any second. I did crop the image the remove some of the extra kitchen on the left.
